Toy Veteran Joins Digital Blue
Digital Blue Hires Tim Effler as Vice President of Concept Development
Atlanta, GA, October, 2007 -- Digital Blue™, the innovator in electronics and software for the youth market is proud to announce the hire of Tim Effler as Vice President of Concept Development. Effler has been in the creative development business for over 25 years working with some of the most influential toy and entertainment companies in the world and on some of the most successful toy lines of all time. Effler’s extensive licensed and branded product development expertise will help Digital Blue greatly expand its product offerings.
Effler was a founding partner of SOEDA, Inc., a creative consulting company whose clients included Mattel, Fisher Price, Hasbro, Zizzle, DreamWorks SKG, Universal Studios, Fox Entertainment and Sony Pictures. For 13 years, he was at the forefront of toy design at SOEDA, including recent work properties such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Wow Wow Wubbzy.

Effler previously served as Director of Product Concepts at Hasbro where he contributed to many of their most successful lines including Star Wars, Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, Ghostbusters and Batman. While there, he initiated and championed the Jurassic Park toy line. His logo design for the Jurassic Park line was adopted by Steven Spielberg as the movie logo.
Tim has also worked at Mattel, Inc. as design manager in the Electronics Group, and as Director of Product Development at ThinkFun Games.
An avid marathoner and aviation buff, Effler has taught design at the University of Cincinnati and lectures on the subject of invention and design to professional design and licensing organizations.
